Opening music - Forever Autumn (Justin Hayward)

Hymn - Morning Has Broken

Morning has Broken, like the first morning;
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dewfall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning,
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation praise ev'ry morning,
God's recreation of the new day!

Reading: In memory of James
(written by Richard Beckinsale)

Sing a song of circles
Dance a spinning web of time
Heal all the scars I have
Inside my heart and on my mind.
With spider hands of gentleness
Bind me in bonds of love
Let all around me speak in light
And out of darkness move.
I have a song to sing of beauty
Pure and simple, fond and true.
Let the song be sung in gladness
Made of me and born of you.
Somewhere in the sudden sunshine
I can see darkness there.
Close your wings my gentle angel
Keep me safe and peaceful there.

Memories of James.

A prayer of thanksgiving

Our Father, who art in Heaven, Hallowed be
thy name;
Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done;
On Earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
As we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom,
The power and the glory,
For ever and ever. Amen.

Reading (Anonymous)

Give what's left of me away
Now that I'm gone,
remember me with a smile and laughter.
And if you need to cray,
cry with your brother or sister
who walks in grief beside you.
And when you need me,
put your arms around anyone
and give to them
what you need to give to me.
There are so many
who need so much.
I want to leave you something,
something much better
than words or sounds.
Look for me
in the people
I've known and loved or helped
in some special way.
Let me live in your heart
as well as your mind.
You can love me most
by letting your love
reach out to our loved ones,
by embracing them
and living in their love.
Love does not die,
people do.
So, when all that's left of me is love,
give me away as best you can.

Hymn - All Things Bright and Beautiful

All things bright and beautiful,
All creatures great and small,
All things wise and wonderful:
The Lord God made them all.

Each little flower that opens,
Each little bird that sings,
He made their glowing colors,
He made their tiny wings.

The cold wind in the winter,
The pleasant summer sun,
The ripe fruits in the garden,
He made them every one.

The purple headed mountains,
The river running by,
The sunset and the morning
That brightens up the sky.

He gave us eyes to see them,
And lips that we might tell
How great is God Almighty,
Who has made all things well.
